MeeT Kelly
Kelly Scott, MM, SVRS-VT, is a professional voice teacher, vocal coach, performer, and music director based in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.
Kelly holds a Master of Music in Classical Vocal Performance from NYU Steinhardt, a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre from Wilkes University, and advanced training in vocal pedagogy and voice science. She is also a Singing Voice Rehabilitation Specialist (SVRS-VT) with specialized training in supporting singers experiencing vocal fatigue, injury, surgery, or pathology. Kelly works in affiliation with The Voice Lab at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
An active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Kelly serves as Vice President of the Allegheny Mountain Chapter and as Website and Social Media Manager for the NATS Eastern Region. She is also a member of the Music Teachers National Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the Pan American Vocology Association.
In 2014, Kelly made her debut at Carnegie Hall while performing with the New York Lyric Opera singing the role of Juliette in Gounod's Romeo et Juliette. Less than a year later, Kelly would be seen again with New York Lyric Opera performing the role of La Fée in Massenet's Cendrillon. Additional roles include Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos), Melissa (Amadigi di Gaula), and Olympia (Les Contes d'Hoffman). In 2016, Kelly made her European debut in Salzburg, Austria singing the role of Madame Herz in Mozart's comic opera Der Schauspieldirektor with the Austrian-American Vocal Academy under the direction of Sandra Moon & John Fowler of the Metropolitan Opera.
Among Kelly's various opera credits, she also thrives in Musical Theatre, where her previous major theatre credits include Claire (Ordinary Days), Gertrude McFuzz (Seussical the Musical) Mrs. Walker (The Who's Tommy) and Constanze (Amedeaus), all of which were recognized by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for exceptional performances.
When she’s not on stage performing, Kelly can be found in the pit music directing and conducting various theatre performances in the area. Some of her favorite shows she has music directed include Ride the Cyclone, Footloose, Seussical, We Will Rock You, Chicago, Spongebob: The Musical , Mary Poppins, & Legally Blonde.
Kelly is also a frequent conference presenter and clinician, sharing her work at national, regional, and state conferences for organizations including the National Association of Teachers of Singing and the Music Teachers National Association. Her presentations explore topics in vocal pedagogy, cross-genre voice training, entrepreneurship, social media, and the evolving needs of today’s singers and voice teachers.
Kelly has been named one of Pennsylvania Business Central’s Top 100 People for 2026m as well as featured in their 2023 publication of Foremost Under 40. Kelly was a 2025 Human Compatible Learning Grant recipient through the Pan American Vocology Association, and in 2024, Kelly was honored with the Joan Frey Boytim Award for Independent Voice Teachers through the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Kelly’s voice studio, Kelly Scott Studios, was also named Best New Business by State College Magazine in 2024.
Outside of work, Kelly and her husband spend their time chasing around a creative, energetic, monster truck loving 5 year old and their two pets.
