Vocal injuries don’t just impact your voice, they impact your confidence, your identity, & your ability to do what you love.

When a singer’s voice is impacted by injury or vocal pathology, recovery isn’t something you should navigate alone. It takes a team. My goal is not just to help you recover, but to help you come back with a stronger, more efficient, and more confident voice than before.

A Singing Voice Rehabilitation Specalist (SVRS) is a voice teacher or SLP with advanced training in working with injured voices, always in collaboration with medical professionals. Think of it like an athlete recovering from an injury. You need the right team in place to safely and effectively get back to full performance.

What is an SVRS?

After an evaluation with a laryngologist and speech-language pathologist who specialize in voice care, singers may be referred to my studio for a singing-based assessment and a personalized recovery plan that supports their return to singing.

  • All SVRS sessions are 55 minutes in length. You can choose between:

    • Full-Time Membership (4 sessions/month): $390

    • Part-Time Membership (2 sessions/month): $195

For the most consistent progress, many singers opt for weekly sessions (full time membership), but great improvement is very possible with twice-monthly sessions.

Lessons are scheduled based on your availability and do not need to be at the same time each week, allowing for flexibility month to month!

  • Yes! In fact, a large portion of my studio works virtually.

Online sessions are highly effective for addressing vocal challenges, and I’ve successfully worked with singers all over the world for several years. You’re also welcome to do a mix of in-person and virtual sessions depending on your needs.

No matter the format, the level of instruction and care remains the same.

  • Most singers begin noticing consistent improvement within the first 8–10 sessions.

However, like any form of rehabilitation, lasting change and habit-building can take up to 6 months depending on your goals and consistency.

Every voice and situation is different, so your timeline may be shorter or longer. We’ll adjust as we go based on your progress.

  • Your first session will include a consultation and intake where we’ll:

    • Talk through your goals and vocal history

    • Explore targeted exercises to assess what you’re experiencing

    • Create a clear, personalized plan moving forward

We’ll also review any information you’ve received from your medical provider so we’re all aligned. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of what we’re working on and how we’ll get there.

  • Once you’ve moved through the rehabilitation phase, you have the option to seamlessly transition into traditional voice lessons.

In fact, many singers choose to continue! Ongoing lessons help reinforce the healthy habits we’ve built and allow you to keep growing with someone who understands your voice and history.

  • A referral is not required.

However, before we begin, I do ask that you share any relevant medical information (such as scope videos/images, evaluations, or diagnoses) so I can best support you.

If you’re not referred by a provider, I’m always happy to connect with your laryngologist or speech-language pathologist. Collaboration is key, and it’s importaht that we create the best voice care team for you!

  • At this time, I do not accept insurance.

Some clients have been able to classify sessions as professional or work-related expenses depending on their field. I recommend checking with your CPA or tax professional to see what may apply to you.

  • SVRS work complements the work you’re doing with a speech-language pathologist or voice therapist, but applies it directly to singing.

We take the techniques and strategies from voice therapy and integrate them into your singing in a practical, functional way. This helps bridge the gap between clinical work and real-world vocal performance.

As a Singing Voice Rehabilitation Specialist, I’m trained in how the voice functions across all systems—breath, vocal fold function, resonance, and more—and how injury or imbalance impacts singing.

This allows me to collaborate with medical professionals and help you rebuild your voice in a way that feels connected, sustainable, and specific to you as a singer.

"It is rare to find someone who can thoughtfully pivot and adjust plans when a singer’s routine just isn’t working, and that adaptability is one of the many qualities that truly sets Kelly apart."

Our time working together in the voice lab clinic has been nothing short of amazing. We seamlessly bring together perspectives on vocal pathology, treatment, and rehabilitation, working in unison for the benefit of our shared clients. I tell all of my singers that it would be a disservice not to introduce them to Kelly. She is truly an expert in this field. “

Hi, I'm Kelly!

MEET YOUR SVRS

I was drawn to this work after seeing how many singers struggle to find their way back to their voice after injury, surgery, or vocal pathology. Too often, support ends when formal therapy ends… but voice care doesn’t have to (and shoulnd’t!) stop there.

In collaboration with The Voice Lab at Geisinger Hospital (Danville), I work as part of a collaborative voice care team to help singers navigate that next phase. My goal is to keep you motivated, rebuild trust in your voice, and help you return to singing the music you love.

If you’re experiencing vocal concerns and aren’t sure where to start, I’m always happy to help guide you toward the right care team and next steps!

Your voice deserves to be strong, healthy, and free. We’re here to make sure it gets there.
